Scholarships

Application for scholarships and the study abroad program must be made through the Sam M. Walton College of Business. Information is available on the Walton College web site.

The following is a list of scholarships funded by the Center for Retailing Excellence and made possible through the generosity of our board member companies and the retail and supplier community. Please feel free to contact us on our home page if you have questions.

Center for Retailing Excellence Endowed Scholarship

Through the generous support of our executive board of directors, the Center for Retailing Excellence established an endowed scholarship to provide financial assistance to students in the Walton College with an interest in retailing. The Center plans to continue to grow this endowment to provide additional support for business students that might otherwise be unable to complete their education.

Vendors FORE Education Scholarship

The golf tournament which supports this scholarship was organized and executed by Russ Heithoff, Strategic Retail Solutions and Erik Wolff, E-Wolff Sales Solutions. This event is supported by members of the supplier community who have a great concern in helping students who potentially may be future employees. For this reason, they made the decision to donate the proceeds each year to the Vendors FORE Education scholarship fund. We are grateful to these gentlemen and the vendors who participate in this event for their support and interest in our students.

Bridgestone/Firestone Scholarship

Bridgestone/Firestone was the first executive board member for the Center and continues to be an incredible partner. This scholarship is an annual contribution and is an example Firestone's dedication and commitment to the University of Arkansas and the future of the retail industry through education. Bridgestone/Firestone continues to influence the retailing industry through its support of higher education as a mechanism to shape businesses of tomorrow.

The Robert F. Connolly Endowed Scholarship in Retailing

The Robert F. Connolly Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student with a focus in retailing. For his years of service to the Center for Retailing Excellence and his dedication to the education of students at the Sam M. Walton College of Business, the Robert F. Connolly Endowed Scholarship in Retailing was created by friends and industry associates to honor Bob Connolly. His willingness to share his knowledge and experience will be perpetuated through the support this scholarship provides to students throughout the future.

Center for Retailing Retailing Excellence Student Support Golf Tournament

The Center for Retailing Excellence in cooperation with its executive board of directors sponsors the Annual Student Support Golf Tournament in conjunction with its fall conference. All proceeds from the tournament are used to support programs which enhance the educational experience of students at the Sam M. Walton College of Business.

Study Abroad Program

The study abroad program provides an opportunity for students to obtain an international perspective in their business education. Through study abroad, students take a better understanding of global business and culture into their profession. It is through the support of our executive board that the Center for Retailing Excellence is able to provide funding for this program important program.
